What do you do when you have a boatload of leftover Chile de Arbol peppers? Well why not create a BBQ sauce? So that's what I did! I made a batch and handed it off to unsuspecting victims (family and friends) and they loved it! Well that's the story and here it is! As they say "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut!"
How can I begin to describe the sauce? It doesn't taste like a traditional BBQ sauce yet it can be used on everything BBQ and more. The Chile de Arbol pepper, traditionally used in Mexican and Southwestern cooking, adds a nutty flavor and heat profile for a unique taste not found in other BBQ sauces. It's amazing on chicken, pork, beef or just about anything you can imagine. Use this in recipes like Tacos Al Pastor and stuffed peppers; the possibilities are endless!
In life you need to try new things as well as stick with what works. I'm setting my goal on making this your "GO TO" sauce for everything from beef to veggies. Who knows? Maybe another squirrel will find a nut in the near future!
